Continuity Editing ...

Continuity editing is used to create a more smooth transaction from shot to shot without the viewer noticing.

180 Degree Rule – Make sure the camera is on the same side of the person so it doesn’t confuse the audience.
Eye Line Match – Used in conversations, looks towards the source of the sound and then cuts to the place they were looking.
Shot Reverse Shot – Mainly used in conversations, used to see other people’s reaction.
Match On Action - Where a character carries out an action, then cuts and in the new shot they are finishing the action.
Master Shot – Shows the audience the setting and the relationships between the characters.
